The IKEA is one of the most renowned furniture retailers. They have special stores with big showrooms. But you can also check their products on their websites. With IKEA you can get very cheap but still good quality furniture. Let’s see what they offer in the bed bunk department.
IKEA’s bed bunk
• MYDAL – this bunk bed is made from solid pine in the light shade. It has a ladder that can be mounted from both sides of the bed depending on your wishes. The upper bed has two safety rails. The measurements are 104 cm wide, 157 cm high and 196 cm long.
• NORDDAL – the Norddal is made also from solid pine, and stain, clear acrylic lacquer. The bed can be divided into two single beds which is good when somebody doesn’t like heights. The ladder can be again attached to the both sides.
• TROMSÖ – the bunk bed is made from steel with pigmented epoxy powder coating. It is designed by Tord Björklund. The mattress should be maximum 8 inches thick. This bed is very suitable to limited living spaces, for examples to dorms. This bed can be also made as twin over full bunk bed where the lower bed is full size and the upper is twin.
• STORÅ – the IKEA also offers the loft bunk beds. This bed is made from solid stain pine with clear acrylic lacquer. The ladder as usual can be on the both sides. Under the bed you have available storage space or working space.

Some ikea bunk beds are designed in such a way that, single bed is at the top while the bottom one is with double. In this case the parents can sleep on the bottom bed while the kid can sleep on top one. Usually every bunk bed is provided with ladder, a down rack to keep the pillow covers, bed sheets, and other mattresses as the storage area.
Wood bunk beds are most commonly used because while manufacturing the bed it is finely polished with shiny lacquer or polyurethane which looks elegant in the bright light. The wood must be pine which offers perfect finishing and strongest. There are many kids of wood like rubber wood, teak wood, rose wood etc. depending upon the economic condition of the customer they can make avail. The only disadvantages of this wooden bun beds are they get scratched more easily by the house hold pets like cat, dog. When they lose gloss they must be polished again, attack of pests is the most common drawback.
Iron Bunk beds; they are more flexible and foldable. These beds are available in different colors, and in different designs depending up on the requirement of the customer. They use enamel paints, gloss paints to attract children. They provide with lockers, ladder, single X-shaped loft bed etc. The iron or metal beds are painted with cartoons, pictures, and they even provide place for drawing for the kids. Iron beds or the metal beds are very useful as they last for a long time without any sustaining wear.
There are even plastic bunk beds that are made of high quality of polyethylene, and molded into different styles.
All these bunk beds are available in different styles, designs and occupy less floor space and provide privacy to the sleepers in a single bedroom.
